Borzoi rolls out an experiment in bugmanism by recording a reaction to the first two episodes of the Waco miniseries. Stay tuned for the week-to-week reaction of this peculiar project that dramatizes the horrific events of the frequently misunderstood and lied about siege.
The Poz Button 41 – Jin-Roh
Crank up that Xurious and physically remove communists. This week on the Poz Button, Borzoi invites on General Belisarius and Glock Doctor to discuss a Laotian Stop-Motion film by the title of Jin-Roh. You might know it better as the Right Wing Death Squads movie. Strap in for a long chat about Japan, soldiers, war, PTSD, and yes, even anime.
The Poz Button 40 – Dungeons and Dragons
Borzoi rolls a Nat 20 this week and talks about something he actually does enjoy with Godcast member SuperLutheran: Dungeons and Dragons. We give a brief history and overview of the game, and show you one of the simplest ways of creating collaborative culture.
The Poz Button 39 – The Last Jedi
May the Ficus be with you! The Poz Button finally talks shop on the Last Jedi this week, read some Chinese reviews, and get into Warhammer 40k, bugmen, and the death of a franchise. With guests Titus Flavius of Kulturkampf and Tales from the Trough and Myles Poland from the Godcast.
The Poz Button 38 – Malibu’s Most Wanted
This week on the Poz Button, Borzoi brings back DinoCon to talk about (((whiteness))), authenticity, ethnic humor, and hip hop culture in the curious 2003 comedy Malibu's Most Wanted. Positioned as a satire on hip hop and wiggers, the movie is an interesting example of a film that couldn't be made in this political age.
The Poz Button 37 – My Little Pony / Bronies
This week on the Poz Button Borzoi reconsiders his pricing model for paid episodes as he does an episode on the lost generation of men known as the Bronies, while also doing his best to do a PB on the recent My Little Pony movie. He's joined by Paisios, who to his credit took the concept seriously, and Roscoe, who unfortunately was beset by internet connection problems. Thank you to an anonymous donation on behalf of Exodus/Americanus for us to make sense of this phenomenon and its affect on Europa's sons. We couldn't have done it without you. Literally.
The Poz Button 36 – Zardoz
ZARPOZ SPEAKS TO YOU! Jimbo Vicarson returns to kinda, sorta talk about one of his favorite movies. Eventually. We are all over the place with this one, talking about what makes a "bad movie", the end of New Hollywood, 70's Science Fiction, and even super hero movies. We do talk about Zardoz though and it's terrifying vision of the future that gets truer with every passing day.
Sorry about the audio in the second half, nothing else could be done for it.
The Poz Button 35 – Eyes Wide Shut (Part Two)
Borzoi manages to escape being a prisoner of a Rothschild party to bring part two of the Eyes Wide Shut deconstruction with fewer audio issues this time. He and Russell go deeper into the film to untangle the various themes of matrimony, the esoteric, and a film theory you've never heard before.
The Poz Button 34 – Eyes Wide Shut (Part One)
An episode so huge it needed to be recorded twice and split into at least two parts. This week on the Poz Button, Borzoi and his guest Russell James, delve into the background history of Eyes Wide Shut, especially with its source material in Arthur Schnitzler's Traumnovelle.
The Poz Button 33 – Goldfinger + James Bond
This week on the Poz Button we get into the end of masculinity with James Bond. Special guest Jay Lorenz, editor-in-chief of Fash the Nation.
