I watched the first of the new MK movies, and all I remember (other than thinking it was shit) was how ADD the editing was. There wasn’t a single shot that lasted more than a few seconds, I was actually counting by the second half. The 90’s movie was at least fun.
Movies based off 90’s videogames are all kind of trash purely due to the games themselves being heavily inspired by 80’s movies, so they’re all just indirect remakes of Aliens in a way.
The Raiden they are referring to is Metal Gear Solid
The casting of the Australian guy for Kano in 95 must have resonated. Because the lore never suggested he was Australian but they made him in the 95 movie and it stuck.
Obsession > Hokum> Backrooms for me
Backrooms is like a 6 to me, unimpressive, but it wasn’t bad.
Didn’t watch Backrooms but Obsession didn’t hit with me at all. Hokum was great, probably best movie of the year.
Hokum was good but I got a bit confused because two of the hotel guys basically looked like the same guy. Idk maybe I’m retarded but I got confused which was which.
Hokum > Backrooms > Obsession
H: legit good horror film and well made film
B: impressive adaptation of something new and interesting and i love analog horror
O: standard horror movie concept done very well if you have high cringe tolerance (cringe is part of the horror though)
I’m kind of distraught we only got like 5 minutes of blackrooms content. At least Alex is going to watch it, and the guys didn’t seem to hate it. The simulacra is REAL. There’s still hope, right?
