The saudi aristocracy’s obsequiousness to zog is well known, although i’m not sure what the actual Saudi public’s view of israel is, I can’t imagine it’s glowing. Discourse in the KSA is heavily policed, and they don’t even have elections past the municipal level, iirc.
This episode was freakin fantastic! I like the freewheeling nature of TDS, but it helps when it’s counterbalanced with more methodical shows like P&B. I think P&B has surpassed the quality of S&M at this point, and the CoC episodes in particular are always evergreen.
Like Mike, I remembered bits and pieces of the Wahhabist story from the Iraq War days, but this episode really helps clarify everything. I still remember all the reports of the US military clandestinely flying Wahhabists all over the Middle East to do its bidding and feeling so frustrated with clueless Americans asserting that we were in some kind of holy war with Islamism when we were in fact fully in bed with it since the 1940s ever since we started using it as a knife against secular pan-Arab nationalism.
And yes, how bitterly ironic that Britain managed to neuter Dr. Rahma the way it does best: not by actually deporting her to Palestine (since Israel would never accept that) but by turning her into yet another British Wahhabist. How long till she enthusiastically goes to Syria for whatever reason, like so many British Wahhabists before her?
Actually, at this point she’s probably more likely to go to Yemen as a field medic for the PLC. Like the Americans, the Brits always know where to send their Wahhabist trash where it’s needed the most.

I don’t think Aramco has that many American contractors at the lower levels. They employ a lot of other Arab speakers and Indians and Flips at the ground level.
I don’t think their engineering is that American either. It certainly started that way since Aramco specs require prints in English not Arabic and they follow ASME and API standards and like to use UL equipment. Trust me. I’ve been all over their mountain of god damned specs.
