I watched an hour long youtube video about the largest crt ever made, 45 inches, the guy found one in Japan. When I was a teenager we had a 36 inch crt encased in a 90s woodgrain display case. I swear it weighed 800lbs and couldn’t be removed from the overall display case. Took a huge amount of effort to get it up the basement steps.
The amount of crazy technology that went into making CRT higher quality was kind of insane. Most of it was economically infeasible because it needed so much engineering work to manufacture. Rear projection, field emission display… the list is really long.
LCD and the likes just slaughtered it all, a lesson in tech and economics for sure.

There is still a pre speech high pitch squeal, i an not an audiophile so no idea where it’s coming from.
I think my tinnitus cancels it out because I don’t hear anything at all.

Aluminum cans are very much worth recycling.
The problem I have with the bottle return system is that it makes residential recycling services harder to implement, as a big part of the usable material is taken out so only the super wealthy and/or liberal cities can justify it.

My grandfather used to show actual in theater movies on a projector at his bar (he had a connection) and would broadcast blackout sports games with his illegal satellite hookup lol
They eventually caught on to him but he was able to get out of any actual trouble and got away with it for as long as he could
