I recommend you guys watch the movie Street Kings from 2008. I don’t want to spoil anything but there are a couple funny cameos you won’t expect. Go into it expecting a stupid but funny action movie about a corrupt cop and just have a good time.

Pleasantville was apart of the “50s was bad” cinematic universe that was popular in the 90s and Aughts culminating with Mad Men. They were basically made as a reaction to all of the 50s nostalgia films of the 70s and 80s. Ironically if Pleasantville was made today, the 50s sitcom town would be multicultural even when it was black and white since the narrative now is that “we always were multicultural” since a lot of nonwhites love midcentury fashion, aesthetics, and culture despite “Whitey was mean” narratives.
