Call me a rightoid as this may not be credible but I remember watching the doc The Business of Being Born. They go into how anathesia induced C-sections increase the risk of PPD and decrease hormonal bonding during pregnancy. Interesting doc but I haven’t watched it in 15 years. They go into several modern procedures in the U.S. specifically like midwifing and the demonization of it historically etc. And how doctors plan pregnancies around shift changes instead of letting them occur naturally.
