Re:Colonialism-vs.-QuickerIndustrialization …I’d imagine the other side of that is how big a country you are. Britain, Spain, Portugal, etc. they just have stronger incentives for colonialism b/c they don’t have the local resources. “Just establish sane trade relations” wasn’t an option at the point they were responding to that incentive.
I caught most of Michael Hudson’s appearance on Dialogue Works (Nima Alkorshid), and it was like his entire explanation for the Iran conflict didn’t mention Israel _once_. Tbf, I missed a bit of the beginning, but it’s hard to imagine he had a sufficient inclusion w/ the main explanation leaving them out.
