Might be worth looking into the legality of operating a small row boat or canoe while drinking, they can be alot of fun.

I liked Widow’s Bay, but now they’ve green-lit a 2nd season.

I will not watch it. The end of S1 was perfect.

I have the same concern about Shogun, the 2024 adaptation was near perfect now a second and third have been authorised. The story has nowhere to go, ether in the book or historically.

Backrooms was kinda mid imo. I really expected it to be more mysterious and found footage but that part ended abruptly and then it became a hostage movie.

I didnt realize there’s parts of America where they dont do float trips. The best way is when you park your car at the take out spot and then take a shuttle up to the put in. Then you float back to your car.

The other problem with the e-bikes is they’ve made niggers infinitely more mobile. Now when they get to the scene of the crime they didn’t even have to get tired first.

Guys…just spoil the film.

A McDunStab movie review is better than sitting through a movie. But only if you actually describe it. This is supposed to be the theater of the mind, not notes from freshmen year film school.

I really enjoy the abyss knockoff/abyss-sploitation films that came out in (or around) the same year, stuff like leviathan, deepstar six, the rift, etc.

I went to school in the ’80s in the Lakes area of Oakland County outside Detroit. We took boaters safety in school because kids were either driving or riding in family boats.
We also had a 6th grade camp where the entire class went to a camp for a week and stayed in dormitory bunks. We even went to the shooting range and shot .22 rifles live ammo.
Do any schools do that kind of thing today?

Hokum was fucking lit. Thank you for turning me onto it. I really enjoy Adam Scott when he’s in horror movies. Also, I disagree about The Lighthouse. I didn’t appreciate that movie until I watched it a second time. But, it’s for the same reason you didn’t rewatch it. The first time you watch it, it either confuses you to no end, or like it did to me, you just get mad. The first time seeing the lighthouse, I literally threw shit at my tv. But there’s a deeper folk lore that they are using. Mostly tied back to East… Read more »

If you isolate the opposite sexes, they just always end up fucking.

I’ve been (and still go) to a bunch of LAN parties. A lot easier now that lcd monitors are a thing, plus any game actually worth playing is 20+ years old and can run on any laptop. Also Halo is a good LAN party game purely because instead of asking everyone to bring a PC you just need a handful of people to bring Xboxs and everyone else just needs to show up.

This is quickly becoming the best show on the site. I love hearing commentary on media. Politics is all well and good, the strait of whoremuzzie is important, but I want to hear what my favorite internet nazis think about the latest product. I just assumed Obsession was some gay shit and didn’t bother watching it. The actress seems to have launched a videogame streaming career off of that role now, she’s on youtube playing games and feeding herself off of simp donations. I feel vindicated in that regard, but Alex mentioned Caveat which I haven’t seen yet. I agree… Read more »

Is that $250 Canadian or US? Either way I paid well over twice that for my last ER uber ride and I live pretty close to the hospital.
How ever much you hate the US health care system it isn’t enough.

I also grew up with a PC in the house. I was born in ’94 and my Dad was early setting up a computer. I remember being a little guy and watching him play Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein, and I was also way too good at Driver. There was a level where you were in a parking garage and you had to do a certain number of driving tricks and he couldn’t beat it, but I remember beating it by just fucking around. I used to watch him play FEAR later on too, good memories. By the time I was… Read more »

You never want to be one who owns a boat.

Instead you want to be good friends with someone that has a boat.

I don’t get the appeal in banning surrogacy, the main reason it gets into the news is because something goes wrong with it and the bourgeoisie of a country can use it for their faux culture war bullshit. It’s basically no different than adoption, so if we’re going to ban surrogacy we should ban adoption as well

Look up “quake family tree.” A good chunk of modern games are directly descended from the original 1996 Quake, not even just shooters. Its engine has been built on or forked into different branches for 30 years.

For me, it’s Dark Engine, Developed in 1995, it’s completion may have preceded the Quake engine (it was certainly a parallel development if nothing else). Quake engine getting GPL 2.0 really helped its propagation.

Nah, Doom was the first time we had something close to being genuinely immersive. In 2026 you can play that game and still get thoroughly sucked in and find yourself jumping or flinching when you get blindsided by an imp.

if film grain interests you, Werwulf did something really cool. for the Lighthouse, they used a combination of lighting and makeup that takes advantage of the unique grain structure of black and white film, which doesn’t pick up reds, to bring out texture and depth in skin tones and such. for werwulf, they worked with the filmstock company to make a new kind of color film that somehow has the grain structure and blue sensitivity of black and white film. it looks filthy and amazing from what the trailer shows
