On the video player- it works for me, across several systems.
I would have preferred the old player if the video source could have been fixed, because
I could download the MP4 to my phone to play, which would be harder with this new streaming/.ts based system. But this actually works and downloads at more than 0.9x speed, so it’s pretty good.

Ok, so if I go full screen immediately nothing messes up.
What’s that banging sound? Guys building Mike a deck?

This new player eventually says “stream is offline” and I can’t scrub.
There’s a white, hazy filter over the video also.
I am on Brave, on an updated IPhone.
Now everything is wigging out like I’m scrolling up and down a half inch really fast.
Good thing I just download the main show and listen to it.

I wonder if the problem is related to cellular coverage. I haven’t tried using my iPhone with WiFi to see if the problem goes away. My T-Mobile coverage can be spotty. The new video player in my experience spins and spins but once it does get going it works fine.

Yeah, this thing doesn’t even have a play button. WTF?
There’s a restored cabin in King’s Mountain National Park with a pile of stones as a foundation for the timber that touches the ground, and that’s where I learned that specific definition of pier. Also video player works okay on Safari, likes to fake you out with the play button though.

Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, King of Fighters, World Heroes…all the SNK fighters were superior to Street Fighter 2.

Contrarian opinions on computer games aren’t uncommon, it’s just that if you’re not into them as much, you won’t see them.
You see contrarian takes on music all the time and comment on them if that’s what you’re into. Anyway, my hip takes are that I preferred Corpsegrinder when he was in Monstrosity and I don’t think the first four Metallica albums are *that* great, especially when compared to more ground breaking contemporaries like Kreator and Slayer.

Love how everything “just works” on Apple devices like my brand new iPhone, including the TRS video player.
I think that’s the gag. Otherwise I’m going lay down on railroad tracks placing my cock and balls directly in the path of the oncoming rail traffic and place a pillow under my head so as to allow me to whiteness something better than this player,
The Neo Geo arcade hardware was more accessible in poor regions, since the games were sold on cartridges much like with a home console. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat machines needed a whole new PCB if not a cab entirely with each new release. NeoGeo arcade hardware was also easy to pirate, so SNK games are very popular in Mexico and South America.

King of fighters was a huge! It was only in the arcades, unless you had the dough for a neogeo home console.

Pretty cool video about the niche Smash Bros Brawl community and one of the most bizarre matches it’s ever witnessed
Also King of Fighters has become a competition staple now at Evo (the biggest fighting game competition in the world) since 2011. These players are in a league of their own
is prep was definitely worth $5 Especially ’cause it wasn’t my $5… LOL

Neo Geo fighting games, primarily made by SNK, were legendary amongst the hardcore fighting game community. Casuals never played that stuff
I could probably name a bunch of JRPGs you’ve never heard of but are legendary in the JRPG community. A lot of beloved games actually had a very niche audience which is why many that are considered classics by the sub-communities never received sequels as they weren’t profitable enough. I was one of the few people who bought Earthbound when it first came out (well technically my mom bought it for me)
Back when it was contemporary, the Neo Geo as a console was seemingly impossible to find in stores, the exposure most people had to Neo Geo content was in their multi game cabinets in arcades.
Don’t think I didn’t notice you mentioning Etrian Odyssey that while back. Map drawing being built into the game and all. And the difficulty. I had a tricky enough time playing through second one, so I dindu much of the post game gondend. But yeah, those first three games I played were fun.
Probably on an episode of Third Rail. I can’t remember which episode, but it would have been about two or so years ago. It was a while ago, but not like the 2010s or anything. I mean, the map making is built into the game what it being on the second screen. It would be like playing a fighting game with taking the health bars into account*. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to draw out your own maps when playing the games that inspired them like Wizardry. Guess I’m just a lazy cupflake National SOCIALIST Millennial,… Read more »
Just had a flashback to the scratch and sniff Earthbound stickers I got out of Game Players magazine. They were mystery scents, and I still have no clue what they were supposed to be, but have a vivid memory of the smell 30+ years later.

Double plus good
The new video player makes me happy.
This video player is way better. It’s working perfectly for me on windows desktop with chrome and on android phone with chrome.
It won’t even load for me
I think that’s the gag. Otherwise I’m going lay down on railroad tracks placing my cock and balls directly in the path of the oncoming rail traffic and place a pillow under my head so as to allow me to whiteness something better than this player,
Also, I have an iPhone that I consume this content with, for reference.
Opened the comments to fighting game discourse, ready to sperg out at whatever they get wrong about it.

I always remember going to the rental story and being fascinated by the Nat Geo and the Jaguar and what they were like to rent
Neo Geo has been spelled as Nat Geo here, EXPOSED.
If Summoning Salt hasn’t talked about game, I don’t know about game.
True here in the US, less so in other regions, particularly South America.
Yeah I remember hearing Genesis and Neo Geo were huge in Brazil
Neo Geo arcade machines were huge in South America because they could hold 4 games in 1 which was a boon for a more…economically developing country.

Is King of Fighters connected to Fatal Fury?
King of Fighters is like a “what-if” universe that has all of SNK’s properties in one timeline, along with some of its own original story.
