I think people are looking at the Iran War wrong. Ppl say “there wasn’t a strategy”.
Weakening them was the strategy. Destroying their navy. Destroying their missile launchers. Killing off some hundreds of ppl in the military. Maybe a few thousand civilians. It’s all about knocking Iran down a peg.
That’s why they’re destroying bridges now. Trump threatens to destroy power plants. There’s no “plan” other than wrecking Iran.

I highly recommend reading the book Hitlers revolution, especially the chapter Revolutionaries vs. Reactionaries; amazing how many of the traitors had “Von” in the last name. For those who aren’t aware, the reason it’s always said that Iran is “two weeks away” from a nuclear weapon is that, at their current level of technology, it takes roughly two weeks to centrifuge uranium and mill it into the proper shape for a bomb. The rest of the weapon is essentially a shaped charge albeit a specialized one but the underlying principles are widely known, and the components rely on standard machining and basic timer systems, technology that has existed for around 80 years. Mark Collett’s weird skinflint nature on vidja is alien to me. Objectively 40 pound in the 1980’s for a game is just a total value loser vs games these days, even 70 pound (i don’t even believe this is common practice) is just normal inflation, plus you get a LOT more game these days than 40 pound atari cartridge.

Yeah I don’t care what anyone says, there are still great new games being made that are well worth the money. I’d rather pay 80 bucks for a game that I get 100 hours out of than spending that money on beer or food that will be gone and forgotten. I do have a policy of not pre-ordering anything though and I will wait for a few months for a sale for most games. Occasionally I’ll get a game on release if I know it will be good but it’s rare.

Ya, I have heard him complain about this before and started arguing with the video with how untrue this is. The average price for a AAA line game now is like 60-80 dollars. In 2000 it was 50$ – but the minimum wage was also 5.15$ and average annual income was $35,000. Now it is like 64k. The overall price of games has actually been going down relative to income. Same with consoles and every other electronic device. He is 100% verifiable wrong about this.

You’re all ignoring the fact that games are shipped with features stripped out and sold back now. You also have to pay for subscription services if you’re on console.
That’s also not really true regarding consoles. This is the first generation where I have to pay more to buy a 5 year old console than I would’ve had to pay 5 years ago.
It’s also not great value to have games try to monopolize your time with busy work and bloat, which is what the end result of this $/hr math people have been doing.
That depends heavily on the game but yes that’s a problem. The double edged sword of the internet and platforms like Steam is that devs can patch and fix and add things later, but that also means they can ship an incomplete package if they want to. That’s where refusing to pre-order and being a smart shopper come into play.

Man, games back then were so much more expensive when you consider the pay back then. I once bought a game that cost 80 dollars, 24 years ago! That would be like 140 dollars now

Yeah the Russian provided tanks in Iraq could shoot and scoot but the crews weren’t trained properly, if it was White men manning them like the same old models being used in Ukraine are just as effective as the fancy Abrams brick.
What Mark is saying about the tanks is only partially correct. Yes there was an advantage, but it wasn’t massive. The main difference was training, and maintenance. Most of Iraq’s tanks barely worked at all. They had been sanctioned and under a total no fly zone for ten years. No repair parts were coming from Russia either. Most of these tanks were like scrap metal and if they could fire at all, that was about the best they could do. The people operating them barely knew how to use them.
Tanks are now very vulnerable to drones and ieds, and new anti-tank weapons, as Lebanon is showing. They are not nearly as useful, but could still use used in a large formation attack and quick advances. It is Russia’s current battle strategy that makes them totally useless.

Ukraine has destroyed many of those tanks with drones, mines/IED’s, and anti-tank weapons.

I’ve said a few times, the soldiers being posted to Israel and Jordan are rescue and recovery forces. The mission profile “changed” to SF command when they landed with all their cargo planes. SF usually move in civies on commercial airlines who have a deal to quietly pick them up on the tarmac, The cargo planes are to evac spooks and destroy/remove classified tech.
