Sven has been talking about this film, and I’ve always loved PTA until I tried to watch “Licorice Pizza,” and found out he had a jew wife… so I wasn’t going to watch this thinking it was going to be something actually ideological. Because of this episode coming out, I bittorrented it and watched in preparation for the discussion, and I have to agree that it is a great movie. My laugh-out-loud moment is when Lockjaw comes home with a bouquet of for his new Nubian bride, just to have to break down the door and find she’s few the… Read more »

If TRS ever purchases an office building, I am going to recommend they install a gassing room and incinerator (similar to the one used to dispose of Colonel Lockjaw.)

Even the cargo cutting of terror attacks is very telling, back when people were serious terrorism was defined by violence or specifically the threat of violence in exchange for political gain. Taking hostages or planting a bomb without saying where it is in return for dissidents being released or something similar. Now terrorism is defined basically as just murdering people without any real goal, cases like Luigi aside, and I think the intelligence agencies like that. Not organised and threatening to the state but making enough trouble to continue funding and the narrative. Not that the 1970s guys weren’t just… Read more »

Kinda sounds like a pastiche story actually, like GTA or Fallout, the story is a satirical nod to your favourite stories in one.
This is why the Fallout fan games are so good even with crashing issues, you’ll randomly find Xenomorphs in the sewer n stuff, you’ll find someone’s diary or an old computer explaining what happened and their name is similar to a movie character.

I think the aforementioned film was based on a Thomas Pynchon novel.

French 75 could refer to the famous light artillery piece, 75 millimeters, that was the French standard field gun in the First World War. It was the first artillery piece in wide use with a pneumatic system to dampen recoil.

French 75 could also refer to the alcoholic cocktail of the same name.

I haven’t watched the movie so I have no idea if that is what they are referring to.

Yes the cocktail is named after the field gun.
There’s a lot of references in French language works to WW1 like in Tintin his love interest is Ms Chauchat which is what the troops called their machine gun.
Hergè put a lot of hidden stuff and even maths in the covers referring to the size of Belgium on Tintin’s license plate etc,
Good for boys to read my wife got me the whole collection recently as I was too poor as kid.

The Chauchat was that piece of junk with the water jacket around the barrel and the stupid round magazine on top, yes? I am purposely not Googling for a reason to comment.

Ah close its air cooled but yeah has the comical stupid round magazine ,with slots for mud to get into it!
As you would guess it’s a sarcastic comparison to a Bitchy Woman calling her Ms, it was better than going without her but she might get you killed when she has a breakdown.
Why our lads also called the original M60 “The Bitch”.

You’re thinking of the Lewis gun which had a huge aluminum heatsink on the barrel (which looks like a water jacket kind of). Lewis guns are awesome. Chauchats were total junk. Open slots in the magazine as Enwerd said, and they were hard to load. They’d jam constantly too, which is just a symptom of early self-loading firearms. Ian had some good videos on them years ago.

I think you’re describing a lewis gun, maybe, although that actually had this weird air jacket thing. The Chauchat gets shit on and it wasn’t very good but the 30.06 version was even worse

This is reminding me of Vanishing Point, repopularised by Audioslave’s video.
It’s a cool film but you’ll notice when the cops read the hero’s name Kowalski one says “say is that a Christian name”, implying the cool racing guy who gets pussy thrown at him is a kike, even though he’s actually just a pollack spelled with an I not Y.
And the DJ “symbolising freedom” is a blind magical Negro, top tier boomer mind rape.

Also, Weapons was up its own ass. The director wrote the story as an allegory for his personal struggles with alcoholism, loss, and alienation. There’s no explanation for the witch character. It’s pretentious trash.

I guess I should probably go back and watch this film again with fresh eyes, since I took it way too seriously.

I saw it as a pretentious art film following the lives of a glorified Weather Underground cell as they’re pursued by a cartoonishly evil White Supremo who miraculously wields the power of the entire federal government, with the support of a WASP-coded illuminati and a weird kink for an ugly Black chick.

Bugonia was an excellent 2025 film and might be of interest to the McDunstabb audience: it features a Rightoid and his autistic cousin who abduct a pharmaceutical CEO because they think she’s an alien, based off of his online research.

The book “Vineland” by Thomas Pynchon, that “One Battle After Another” is based on, is a satire and commentary on the “Sixties Revolution” and the mass media culture that surrounded it. I haven’t read it but Pynchon is a great author that understands mid-to-late 20th century America very well. “Inherent Vice” is another PTA movie based on a Pynchon novel that explores similar themes and is very underrated.

Sven, watch Eddington. You will LOVE it. Also, did anyone else notice that Leo in OBAA never accomplished anything (after the first act anyway)? He was always lost and trailing behind other characters who completed all the plot points. Didn’t kill anyone, didn’t save the girl, in the end he finds out he didn’t even father his daughter. He was basically the Dude from Big Lebowski, but more paranoid. Anyways, watch Eddington. It’s basically a neo-western set in COVID, instead of white hats and black hats and indians, there’s maskers and non-masksers and Antifa. It’s in the same political satire… Read more »
