Predator Badlands objectively was mid at best. Not great, not awful, just mid. But it’s so rare that Hollywood puts out anything I even halfway enjoy, that mid feels like the new good.
This is how I felt about the new Running Man. It was fine. They didn’t try to recreate the Arnold version, they made some aspects more like the book and it stands pretty well on it’s own. Very digestable slop.

They do kind of a fake out of that ending. The book ending would have been far too grim and based to be made now. The tone of the film is highly stylized action comedy, so it they did something more consonant with that vibe.
