True. Even past the Boomer era in high school, you would have gotten “those types” who were actively into older music because they weren’t like the others…maaaan.
Understandable. I’m on the fence about Zeppelin because if Boomers like to boom about something, I instinctively recoil from it. OTOH, My attitude to Pink Floyd was the hipster approach (“I’ve always preferred King Crimson over them”) because King Crimson (and Robert Fripp in general) have the Brett Stevens Seal Of Approval, so that’s all I need. This is also one of the main reasons why I say Kraftwerk is my favourite band. I sound profound by saying that they were more ground breaking than The Beatles (another Boomer sacred cow) and they have the ANUS and Brett Stevens Seal… Read more »

“Led Preppelin” THE MOST BADASS TITLE for a prep in the car episode!!! Kudos to you, Gentlemen!!
I bought a shirt from kyle’s last bass player the night before he quit the tour and went home, super cool guy, kyle not so much. Not surprising that his replacement lasted not even a month before wanting to kill him.

The first pressing CDs from the 80’s are by far the best sounding versions of their albums. idk the current ebay price of those, but I would guess it’s probably way too much. The 90’s mixes are still better than the modern masters you can get, and for $12 that’s a decent deal.
Also thanks for reminding me Nuclear Power Trio exists.
Japan always has the best re-issues in my experience. They still invent new formats there lmao, back-compatible. SHM-CD, blu-spec, etc. And on top of that they make CD replicas of the original LP, w/o bar-code, w. inner-sleeve…

Kashmir is a solid Zeppelin song. It’s also 9 minutes lol
I’m glad Jethro Tull is acceptable in thine eyes, it is indulgent, but I love it, flute in a rock act and it works, how can ya beat that?
Identified – Thick as a Brick
All of my love was written in memory of Plant’s young son dying of a stomach infection or virus. It’s not a bad song, a bit overdone but not awful
The cover of houses of the holy was inspired by the sci fi story Childhood’s End iirc
Preppelin, that’s great.
Rain Song live Knebworth 1979
also achilles last stand knebworth 1979
I just turned 48 and Sven is Getting The Led Out…..it’s so over
In high school a lot of guys seemingly overnight got into weed, floyd, and zeppelin. Turned me off from it forever I hate to say.
Same.
This stereotype never died. You can say you were in high school any time the last 45 years and I’d believe you.
