I’ve long wondered if the moon landing was fake. They faked the Holocaust, so why wouldn’t they fake other things. If it is fake they did a better job on it. It’s not a hill I want to die on though. Culture is just the interaction of environment and genetics at the collective level. Some culture is totally environmental, like language, but other parts, like building a society, are more genetic. So just because something is “cultural” doesn’t mean its origin isn’t genetic.
I wouldn’t say language is entirely environmental, the fact that European languages are more complex and precise most certainly is the result of differences in intelligence which are biological and genetic in nature.
Yeah for the most part language comes from genetics. There are exceptions like beaners speaking Spanish, but it should usually be tied to genetics just as much as any other element if culture.

It absolutely is, same with Frankenstein. But Dracula will always remain my favorite. Varney the Vampire (a penny dreadful series from around the same time) was also a fun read but it’s definitely more kitschy/pulpy.
