I enjoyed FTN as entertainment but in the back of my mind there were always nagging doubts. When they were still on the Trump train their takes always sounded like copes to me because I’ve been following GOP politics since Reagan and I’d heard these copes many times before after which nothing happened. And it was obvious we had no leverage over Trump and the GOP was not going to let us take over the party.

To me FTN was at it’s peak before the Jan 2017 mass doxxing event. Even when it came back later that year, I could tell something had changed in Jazz. I hope he’s doing well and I appreciate that he was able to retire to privacy.

FTN’s value in my memory was purely in entertainment quality. Jazzhands was an entertaining likable host. But in our thing we need accuracy and truthfulness above all else. Limbaugh was entertaining and likable too, but his takes were useless for anything substantive. Same for FTN.
since it was brought up, FTN was my first TRS show. An old buddy of mine told me “just listen to FTN”, as an intro into the politics, I suppose. Now, having been a loyal subscriber for 5 years, I do still remember how Jazz’ns made me “feel”. The “what are we doing here, guy” mode was the attitude I appreciated when ranting against “finkelthink” morons. But I don’t miss it. I don’t even miss NJP anymore. We get the content we deserve. Thanks for your commitment to us peasants, bros. Hail the Death Panel for lyfe, niggaz.
People talk about bringing back FTN like it’s the McRib, like we have all of their favorite podcasters in storage and can bring them back out whenever we’d like and not that they are actual people with their own lives who quit or take a break and would prefer it that their privacy be respected.
I’m sad to not hear from Jazzhands (nnnn guuyyyyyy) anymore but when I heard Jesse explain why we don’t (ironically enough on that alcoholic Aussies show who doesn’t get a free sub anymore for talking shit) I understood why.

I agree. It’s about applying our worldview and understanding of how this system works to each event. That involves getting it right.
