I’m with Mike on not being a fan of the Alien franchise. Other than the H.R. Geiger art applied to the designs and sets, the original just comes across as a slow & pretentious B-movie slasher starring a half-naked Sigourney Weaver. The coolest thing that ever happened to the Alien franchise was the crossover with Predator.
Aliens is an amazing action thriller film. James Cameron stays supreme.
Alien WAS a B-tier slasher film; the original cast said that was what they thought they were signing up for. Just so happened that the goofy monster was instead the chest burster with acid for blood.
