Those indie “graphic novels” that are usually “autobiographical” with blobs of text accompanied with shitty poorly drawn ugly pen & ink drawings are fucking cancer. Comics like it or not were the last refuge for draftsmanship and figurative art. The late 90s and aughts is when you got a flood of these shitty graphic novels that critics and librarians jerk off to that were influenced by Jews like Neil Gaiman, Daniel Clowes, and Art Spiegelman.
