A non-American familiar enough with Family Guy to want to use a Peter Griffin bot to explain jokes to him but not knowing what an amber alert is and getting mad about the assumption of knowledge of American colloquialisms is so stupid it’s baffling. How do you watch that show without having a significant familiarity with US popular culture? Every other “joke” is a reference to it. There’s something really magical/perverse about Americanism that it can produce ridiculous archetypes like these anti-American Ameriboos who think they’re rebelling while simultaneously voluntarily assimilating into the hegemon.
