English is an amazing language. The pronunciation issues stem from using the roman alphabet instead of runes of which there are 44 sounds. Learn a language like Xhosa or Thai and you will u understand how a language being too simple can make you retarded.

Forgive when one who has offended you sincerely asks for forgiveness- simple enough.

Praying for your enemies means praying for them to change.

It is frustrating how a simple idea can be so warped.

Mcnabb and Mike have more ancient history and biblical historical knowledge than all those smarmy smug heeb ball sniffing atheists- Richard Dawkins, Chris Hitchens, Pinker, AC Greyling, Sam Harris. The lot of them are insufferable.
Edifying to hear some ancient history rather than the emotive Nietzschean “Churches Smell”. Would have been a good one for Prof Borz to be a guest.

Saying the Old Testament copies from Greek literature presumes it was later written and the writer had knowledge of Greek literature in the first place. Both are unproven. You’re just saying shit Mike. None of this garbage is proven.

As I’ve already shown, Herodotus himself wrote about Moses and Israelites living in Egypt and some of them moved to what is called Greece and actually founded civilizations there.

Herodotus does not mention Moses. You are conflating him with Hecataeus

It doesn’t matter any way since neither of them met the man and can’t prove he existed. If Eratosthenes can’t prove the circumference of the Earth by observing natural phenomenon then you can’t prove the existence of a man based off of “so-and-so told me so”.

If that’s the case than you have no good reason to think many supposed ancient people exist, such as Plato for example.

The oldest Plato manuscripts we have are from the 9th century.

This sort of double standards fallacious critique is also garbage.

People only do this sort of critique to biblical scripture as well.

I am a language fascist, languages should have rules and stick to them, so i really respect japanese for doing that. I wouldn’t call a the language constraining if you can’t speak, read, or write it either. A language like that is a totally different dimension from western languages, and what you might consider constraining could have plenty of subtlety that a western way of thought does not distinguish. I’m not here to glaze japanese or something, but to affirm that culture is essentially innate, and no matter hard one tries, there are things one will never understand without having… Read more »

In Eastern Orthodox the Pasxa egg is red. The egg represents the tomb that Jesus Christ’s body was kept in and the red color represents Christ’s blood and Resurrection. Also, when Mary the Mother of Jesus told Emperor Tiberius that Jesus rose from the dead, Tiberius scoffed at the claim and made reference to an egg turning red. Apparently the egg turned red. There is an Icon of the Theotokos with a red egg.

Okay and when we practice lent up until Holy Thursday and celebrate Christ’s triumph over death with several different liturgies during the week and over the weekend, there is nothing that has to do with Eostre.

It’s also called Pascha from the Latin and Greek, which translates to Passover.

And, Eastern Orthodox celebrate it a bit later than other denoms, and will not celebrate it as the same time as Jewish Passover.

So, keep coping with your garbage and frankly Jewish ideas of Christianity.

Yes Passover was obviously named Easter when Christianity reached Pagan Europe, most of the Pagans and all the Cathars were murdered, then their holidays were converted into Christian ones so they’d go along with it as it was familiar. As the winter festival became Christmas etc. Orthodox have a different calendar thus their holidays are celebrated at different times. “My version of Jewish Christianity”, no that’s just Christianity, your saviour was a Jew. I think Christianity was an intentional subversive movement invented by Jews to bring down the Roman Empire when physical resistance failed. It was the forerunner of Bolshevism: an inversion of values, a hostile takeover, an erasure of previous history, and a vengeful, genocidal act all rolled into one. The difference is that communism was stopped by Hitler, but Christianity kept going for centuries. I post a link to this essay in the hopes that someone smarter than me will take it and run with it, and explain whether the author’s thesis holds water. Well, sorry, but if Christianity hadn’t brought down the empire with its super-subversion —i.e. if Pax Romana had persisted to the present— you’d be paying religious homage to the Emperor and Jupiter. It would be full of jews and you’d be cursing the state temple system under your breath.

When the US stole their space program and scientists then commissioned the Brookings institute to study whether or not to tell the public if they found life in space it was decided not to by the military.
Ironically it was because of Christianity, they feared they’d all go nuts if their story was discredited and the Military would collapse.

Our Easter baskets, as kids had a couple “toys”, with the candy. Nothing approaching Christmas or a Birthday. I’d get stuff like a paddle-ball, balsa wood glider (maybe with rubber band propellor) yo-yo or maybe a cheap kite.

Very subdued. The lengths gone today, for gifts in general, make me sick.

No, pagans and atheists, Easter is not pagan. If you think so, you are stupid and need to stop commenting on Christian things.

Now you’re the one being ahistorical and illogical.

You know nothing about Easter if you’re unaware of its pagan origins.

You should feel embarassed by having posted otherwise, and ashamed morally for attempting to obscure the Truth.

And I say this as neither a pagan nor an athiest.

There’s several converging reasons why it’s called Easter. Why it’s not pagan is no one is worshipping a pagan god, duh. Christians go to Church and celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection and triumph over death. Just because we using Rabbit icons in the modern culture and do egg hunts or whatever doesn’t make it inherently “pagan.” Like I said, no one does it to worship Eostre the pagan deity. They do it as part of cultural inheritance. And, the German “Ostern” can translate to things that are associated with the east, sunrising, and can translate to resurrection. Wow, you’re all… Read more »

Eostre is the pagan fertility goddess 8th century Easter>Estrogen >Female fertility hormone.
It’s in the language itself.
Thus the pagan symbols, eggs, rabbits.
But I’ve already said this above

Most Christians don’t call it Easter, that’s a specifically Germanic name, and many of the traditions originally came from the East or were started over a thousand years after the pagan/Christian overlap

Thank you for the clarification, yes there is probably many combinations of different rituals and timeframes in which these ideas would have overlapped influencing each other.
I know Easter is pagan yes, each holiday must be understood individually and impartially for accuracy.

I had never really done much with these AI models until the other day. Got in a big debate with the AI over how Jews became bankers. It tried to explain to me that banking was all they could do. I asked how they could start banks with no money, because it had previously claimed they were also poor. This started a cycle of the AI telling me I made a good point but then doubling down. My favorite is when it said that Kings would take advantage of Jewish banks by forcing them to loan the kingdom money. I… Read more »

Swedish and Norwegian is pretty much the same language just a different dialect with different spelling.

Norwegians can understand spoken and written Danish for the most part, Swedes have a hard time understanding Danish speech but can read their writing.

Icelandic is almost pure old Norse and they can understand, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian while we cant understand them. (how do that work?)

Farao Island I do not actually know how much Scandinavian they understand and how similar their language/ dialect is to the mainlands.

Let’s be honest: if the church forbid the different European peoples from including any traditions into the new Christian holidays we wouldn’t ever stop hearing how evil that is.

Eggs and chocolate are because you didn’t have sweets during lent. Nowadays holding on eggs would be pretty hardcore, but it’s still common to refrain from chocolate during lent.

No Mike, other languages don’t have that many exceptions. My children are learning English, Spanish and German and the amount of time spent memorising words in English is truly insane. Feels like Chinese, no rules. On the other hand, well pronounced it sounds beautiful like French sounds beautiful. Lots of nuance in the way it sounds.

We should speak Latin and Greek.

I can read a Portuguese & Spanish sentence and pronounce the word correctly despite never heard the word spoken before. Danish is as bad as English when it comes to orthography. Romance languages are certainly much better. Punjabi is also very easy to read but it is a much more recent writing system so that might explain it.

We should encourage use of folk as in folk music, folklore, until it gains usage and regains the connotations the German word maintained. It contrasts especially well with “fake” lore like capeshit, new nashville, other contrived answers to our need for archetypal gondent.

Just because it is not in scripture does not mean it is no Christian. Christian Folklore is full of weird symbols and customs, eggs included.
Christian folklore is an expression of the people who kept that custom alive.

OH GOAWD

Not to WELL ACKSHULLY Mcnabb but the Easter bunny as we know it didn’t become a thing until the 1600s, and Easter’s name came from the name of the month it fell in back in the Germanic Tribe days with a translation of language, not a pagan god. Easter eggs came from Lent when you couldn’t eat meat. Eggs were hard boiled and saved for it, thus Easter Eggs. If it all had pagan roots I’d acknowledge it.
But of course, there’s always pagan holidays with the spring equinox’s and other cosmic activity. That’s a given.

If this were true, then why do Iranians decorate eggs for their spring festival, Nowruz?

Apparently even kikes put out undecorated, hard-boiled eggs for Passover.
