It’s kinda wild how ‘Just n’ Jesse’ comes in twice a month with spot-on-takes that relate directly to my thoughts of that week.

I associate drop tunings with metalcore. Simply because the main difference between metal bands and nu-metal and metalcore bands is that “real” metal bands stuck to standard tunings and the pop-oriented metal bands went for drop tunings. And the only reason for that is because it’s easier to play power chords. I think Nile might have some specific drop tunings but I think they specifically use them because it makes their Egyptian-scale songs easier to play faster.
Many bands use drop tuning. Avenged sevenfold, Slipknot, Tool(certain songs), Rammstein, RATM, Nile, The Acacia Strain, Chimaira, ect.
Shame the sentiment of The Glory is dead and gone, but then again so is my hope that this race can do anything correctly anymore.
The Glory made me feel things and it’s been nothing but despair lit by flashes of rage ever since.
The glory was my favorite song of 2023 – I still hit PR lifts to it.
