I have no musical background/inclination, but these episodes are still interesting to listen to.
I never post…I think you guys do a great job
This was a great episode Sven. I’ve played music for a long time but only recently bought some basic recording equipment. I found a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for cheap on Reverb. I’d love to hear any deep dives you want to do on getting into home recording
This is the good stuff. The right stuff!
I want to hear about Rust in Peace in great detail.
I’m not interested in music theory, or really like this type of music, but Jesse is entertaining and so I listen anyways. Been listening to most shows since 2015 and I’m not gonna stop now.
audtism posting is peak ear-kino
Sven likes it when you tell him the intro riff to Prussian Blue is ripped off from Metallica’s Mission Impossible song “I Disappear”
Ah, that’s why i find it so catchy. I remember that music video lol
He’s lying and doing it on purpose to bug me don’t believe him
Your “don’t steal this” riff has a very lamb of god vibe. Like as the palaces burn era.
Just keep doing what you are doing, Wednesday show was great.
The funny part of the show rules
Great show.
I barely talk in the comments, and never on bang. But I listen cause the breadth and depth of the content. TDS is the best when it’s a mix of good info and funny commentary on shit I know almost nothing about. Also, metal head here. Jesse dunno if it’s up your alley, but band I like you should check out is Sylosis if you haven’t heard them. Their front man is insane at sweep picking and all their stuff is standard tuning which is just different for the genre. Anyways thanks for the content as always. From guy who… Read more »
Best Jazz n Jesse ever.
Jesse you always joke no one listens to this show, please do more music content, there is a subset of us who are either musicians, “pradoossahz”, or plain music enjoyoors who just want to vibe.
Primo gondend Sven. I appreciate this cozy stuff. Superior intellects are for nerds and being right is blackpilling. Thanks for the METAL-PILL.
Is it just me or is the guitar sound dry, squeaky and hollow?
As I mentioned towards the end, that particular guitar’s strings are too close to the neck and smacking against the pickups when I play hard. So, it’s not just you.
I always enjoy the friendship simulator when it’s pumped full of autism. Very cozy.
Well, now I know that Sven knows music like Mike knows Holocaust history.
Though now I’m thinking Sven’s brain may be bigger. I feel like a sat through a Master’s level class on Metal.
What band are you gonna talk about next time?
Probably Metallica after the Load era
I think Cliff and Dave were the only ones who actually knew what was going on.
Dropped D has been a tuning long before heavy metal. Several years ago I learned several pieces by Agustin Barrios who played a century ago. A lot of those Spanish fingerstyle pieces are in dropped D. They would also tune the high E string down to D to a tuning called double dropped D.
bassed.
I had never heard Metallica before I saw the “One” video in ’89. I saw it on MTV. I think it may have been Headbanger’s Ball originally, but I recall that the video made the regular rotation.
It was a great video. Soon I was listening to Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lighning and Master of Puppets.
The rap song was hysterical but you forgot the ‘nasty niggers’ drop
For me, Jesse basically stopped speaking English around 23 minutes in.
What in the Devil are you talking about, sir?
Sven I sent you mp3 of one of the bands I played in the subject is Hessian1276 let me know if you got it. I’ll send more later. I enjoyed the show.
The virgin music theory nerd vs the chad one finger drop D appreciator
Great show, Sven. As a fan of metal/hard rock and as a shitty guitar player, this has been enjoyable content.
There’s something I love about an autistic info dump. Even when it’s not something I’m interested in, I will listen to someone artistically riff about anything.
Have you ever mocked the notion of the official soundtrack of the holocaust being sappy violin music in your lyrics since I always love to call passing their shit test on the holocaust “smashing the violin”. When IQ spergs say that Jews being overrepresented in mastering the violin as proof of “Jewish genius”, I respond “well of course Jews would want to master the most emotionally manipulative musical instrument.”
That piece is kind of sappy. That being said, violin is at the core of much of classical music. From orchestra to chamber music. There are many great jewish violinists but there are also many non-jewish ones.
I know but the instant you hear those violin strings now, you just know the whole “ Vy vamily vas in Poland” monologue is going to kick in.
But if Sven was standing next to Mountain, would he be able to chop down Leslie West with the edge of his hand?
Here’s YouTube link of one of the bands I played in

Hi Sven
HENLO
That Metallica subreddit reminds me of the same shit youtubers do with older stuff when they try to rehabilitate bad products as amazing pieces of art. I respect the novel takes some of them have but there are reasons these things were panned and/or never released internationally back in the day or just ten years ago.
WASP was a band that tried to have one foot in both worlds – bluesy hair metal and dark, heavier metal. They never fully committed to either one, even some of their heavier songs had typical dumb sex lyrics.
Can’t believe you didn’t bring up the mix on Death Magnetic. It’s become a poster child of the “loudness war”, and unless there’s been a new remaster the best sounding version of that album is still the one ripped from Guitar Hero.
I remember buying Saint Anger and forcing myself to like it so I didn’t feel like I wasted 20 dollars. Kinda like Randy on South Park making himself listen to new music.
That Motley Crue riff is from “Live Wire”.
Hey Sven, what would be the easiest way to send you some mp3 of some of the bands I’ve played drums in??
the support email, trstlemania at protonmail dot com
Helmet tuning
Well this TRS listeners who don’t comment are just not doing the friend simulation
The friends were real, in my mind
Hell yeah I can play videogames on my stream for 1 hour and 47.56 minutes!
Boo box
If “they gon’ call me a nigga” counts as a song, then your riff collages definitely count
Very much enjoying music theory with Sven
Taz from the original ECW is very dark skinned, but he is of Italian descent. His son who is in AEW is lighter skinned.
HIs son is Hook with the goofy hair, right?
Yes.
I love the show, there’s only one time I ever felt frustrated with TDS, it was when you guys spent a month or two breaking down the Anthony Olive Garden song. I hadn’t even heard the song outside of the show.
When Jason Aldean’s Small Town song was more based than Olive Garden Anthony
I heard that song blaring out of a brand new F-350. It was so perfect.
Anything but more raw milk content.
Just Jessoids keep winning.
Jessoids are the strongest oids
Those live streams were kino. I wish you could do them again but maybe not on Odysee because it sucks
School Shooter pt 2 was a mistake. It’s mostly done but still recording. I’m just going to pocket it for next week so I’m not persistently behind.
It’s so miserable man, I hate it. You hear me get defeated by the material over the course of the episode. I shouldn’t have done it.
That first one seemed like a real slog for you man. You sounded dejected by the end. God Bless you for even attempting a second.
Take a break from the scourge.
Maybe a new Poz Button would do you good?
Black pilled over the content or just podcast fatigue?
The gondend: he said he was “defeated by the material.”
I can sympathize as a listener to the first ep. I found the content enlightening, it’s stuck with me on a spirital and intellectual level, but dwelling in the minds of these people doesn’t tickle.
Isn’t there something more upbeat and positive you can dissect? Surely there’s something.
Can’t wait, man. Hyperblackpillism is a close second to J&J.
I knew Alex would flake out!
Fuckin baldo.
J&J!
