If I remember correctly, a lot of the episodes were backed up primarily on a site, I cannot remember which one, who then decided to remove all the content without warning and wiped out a number of episodes. There are collectors who have most of the early episodes. Jesse has mentioned recently, whether jokingly or not I am not sure, that he does not feel he still agrees with any takes from around before 700 grug content and does not feel like going extensively through the archives to replace everything he has copies of.
