If middle class professionals are the only ones who debatably have the capacity to engineer society, that’s actually kinda tragic to me, because as much as I would love for the lower to middle class people to collectively turn on this system, even though i’m middle class, i’m not an educated professional, so I feel powerless to do anything unless re-entering academia, therefore I tangentially feel like part of the problem lmao.

What you’re failing to understand is that they fell for the Trump scam in 2020. What they should’ve done is fall for it in 2016 after following the narrow libertarian to alt right pipeline, then go fall for the Charlottesville trap, get tied up in years long court cases after being physically assaulted, and recognize that Trump was a scam. Since they didn’t do this, the nigger cop who shot Ashli Babbit deserves his pardon and an award on top of it (I believe Sven said a medal, but I could be misremembering). Then he opens hour 2 talking about how the 2020 riots had a massive impact on him that’s stuck with him to this day, and ignores the impact this might’ve had on the behavior of the J6ers. We can’t be expected to run simple political organizations because of all the consequences that fall on members from the system, our own personal failings, gayops, etc. Hell, asking someone to sacrifice their potential future earnings is just too much. But those 1/6ers are just massive pussies because they didn’t take hostages, so they deserved the full force of the state coming down… Read more »

McNabb forcing the “Canaanite storm god” meme is more grating to my ears than “volcano demon” was because I, too, saw that weirdo’s stupid YouTube video that the “storm god” claim comes from, and it’s completely retarded to anyone with any familiarity with the scholarship about the divine name.

Would you prefer me to accurately meme Yahweh as a “lesser Canaanite God” instead?

Not among the majority, it isn’t. The idea that a figure called “Yahweh” was elevated by Israel out of the Canaanite pantheon is not accepted by practically anyone outside of a very limited few, and their arguments strain credulity. What there is a scholarly majority on in the study of the cult of YHWH is what’s called the Divine Council idea, that the monotheistic God under various titles (e.g. the plural “Elohim” as a singular name, El Shaddai, or the divine name) rules over the gods and portions out to them the nations that they rule and that He kept… Read more »

Oh so your contention is that Yahweh wasn’t a lesser god, but was instead just another way of referring to the head of the polytheistic pantheon worshipped by ancient Canaanite brigands and eventually these troublesome desert Jew raiders would make a foreskin covenant with said entity? Even if I pretend this isn’t interpolation from an overly literalist reading of the scriptures and poetic fragments of said desert Jew raiders, and I don’t think retorting “Nuh-uh, they worshipped Zeus, not some measly lesser god like Aries!” is quite the comeback you think it is. You’re still ceding that there was in… Read more »

That’s not polytheism, that’s henotheism. I specifically pointed out that when the Divine Council idea took a polytheistic bent, the prophets would condemn it. It sounds to a casual observer like the cult was polytheistic because a casual observer doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The Hellenic pantheon was not henotheistic the way the cult of Israel was. Zeus was not seen as the absolute, supreme, all knowing, all powerful, creator of the universe. You’re also presupposing original polytheism which is not at all a consensus view either. Stick to cars, trains, stroads, and politics, please.

You’re retroactively applying “absolute, supreme, all knowing, all powerful, creator of the universe” as the description for whatever some collection of Jewish cultists were worshipping at some point in their prehistory. Some portion of those Canaanite wackos condemned the polytheistic/henotheistic practices of their neighbors and their inane scribblings survived to present day. You’re being historically anachronistic when you take early church doctrines not formalized until the Council of Nicea and transposing them onto the cultural practices and beliefs of desert Juden living roughly 1,000-1,500 years prior. Why do you need to identify your Prime Mover/”divine ordering principle of the universe”… Read more »

Because I am persuaded that Jesus is who He is said to be, and nothing else follows but that His God and Father must be my God. The continuity of the cult of the God and Father of the Lord Jesus, the church, also being the faith of my fathers for a thousand years is just a bonus.

Take my philosophizing out of it, then. That the prehistoric strain of the cult believed in “a supreme creator of the universe” isn’t a stretch at all. It’s the whole point of everything they ever wrote down about their theology. That’s just original monotheism. I presuppose early man believed in one creator God and that the idea mostly degenerated, you presuppose early man was universally polytheistic and that the idea built up over time. We’re probably just going to disagree on that. Would you please clarify something? Are the jews Canaanites or are the jews evil for having murdered the… Read more »

Zoroastrianism is an older monotheistic faith that includes a supreme creator being. Some allege, probably with a degree of validity that Zoroastrianism influenced Jewish beliefs via cultural exchange. You don’t believe in Zoroastrianism though because Christianity has more historical and cultural availability to you. That’s all there is to it, it’s the availability heuristic, not anything particularly compelling about a bunch of old Jewish scriptures. Your fathers used to believe something different and your descendants will also believe something different than you if they even believe at all. As far as Canaanites, the historical and genetic evidence is that Jews… Read more »

Zoroastrianism is not irrelevant to me because of cultural availability. It’s irrelevant to me because the claims about the person of Jesus lead me to a worldview that precludes Zoroastrian dualism.

Your argument rests solely on the genetic fallacy. You initially believed the earth was round because your culture says so, but you know upon investigation that your cultural assumption was actually the correct case. In a similar way, I grew up in a Christian context, but later became convinced of the historical evidences and theological claims concerning the identity of Jesus of Nazareth.

The earth being round is a belief with predictive powers.

Christianity is not, and all these theological claims are quite literally based on the head canon of the early Christian church some 350-400 years after Christ.

Just because you can show the development of a doctrine over a long time frame doesn’t make that doctrine somehow illegitimate. I don’t know why you think that follows. You just want to introduce a certain level of FUD for some reason into the conversation because you know most Christians probably aren’t well versed in the history of how this stuff. Is this just to flex your own knowledge? I can’t imagine this actually gets people to abandon their beliefs. It probably just entrenches them even further in.

You’re moving the goalposts. Your accusation was that I’m only Christian because I was born into it, but I have looked at the alternatives and have philosophical reasons for remaining Christian. The fact that Christianity isn’t a scientific theory is completely irrelevant and deliberately misses the point I made. You’ve retreated further from your original position with every post. “You’re wrong because it’s a minor Canaanite storm god, actually because it’s the supreme being of a pantheon, actually because that’s lifted from Zoroastrianism, actually because you personally grew up in a Christian context, actually because Christianity isn’t science.” You’ve demonstrated… Read more »

It is clear that we are not on the same page on what makes monotheism, henotheism, and polytheism, so let me explain. The core of all theistic cultic worship is sacrifice, and the orientation of one’s sacrifice determines the religion’s aspect. In biblical terms particularly, the Greek word for worship most often used is προσκυνέω which literally means falling down on one’s face as before one to whom you owe tribute. A monotheistic religion acknowledges the existence of only one supreme God to whom sacrifice is obliged. A henotheistic religion acknowledges the possibility of the existence of many gods but… Read more »

“Other groups bad tho” isn’t an argument. You’re just appealing. I am more on Firebrand’s side in this discussion but as much as it is a reduction the land for foreskins is in the text. It’s textually there. It’s just null and void now thanks to Jesus. I don’t feel beholden to guntguard for the stiff-necked people whose accounts of others i simply do not trust. I accept the prophecies as real but as far as I’m concerned Christ invalidated a distorted and self-serving historical account of an idolatorous and conniving genocidal race with His Truth.

Depending on what is being referenced by whoever makes the “dickskin real estate” argument, I would even contend that this isn’t supported by the text. Specifically, my contention is if the thing the skeptic is pointing to is the covenant with Abraham because it misses the nature of what a covenant is. It would be akin to saying that a wife is a special kind of prostitute who is hired long term with a special currency called a wedding ring. A covenant is not a transaction, it’s a sacramental blood oath.

I’m not making an “other groups bad” claim. I’m just realistic with the reality of the situation at the time. My issue is with the reductionism here. I actually understand that the OT is inherently part of Christianity and I just don’t see why I’m required to just go along with a certain characterization of things in the OT just because I don’t like what Jews do now. That doesn’t follow and on a certain level I just find the blasphemy insulting to my sensibilities after a while. The scholars who posit Yahweh as being lifted from the Canaanite pantheon also don’t identify him with a storm god. They identify him with Qod, the god of metallurgy. I am aware that the pronunciation of the tetragrammaton is up for debate and likely will be forever because the vowels were never written down. There’s more evidence that YWHW was pronounced like Yahoo-uh than Yah-way, but I prefer to look at what someone intends in their argument rather than how they say a thing. The precise name is not really relevant to a discussion about the origin of his cult in history unless someone makes a claim that requires a certain pronunciation which, if I recall McNabb’s YouTube video correctly, the argument for a storm god named “he blows”… Read more »

The Germans are actually most to blame for Jewish power. Why do you think that Ashkenazi Jews are the most prevalent and successful or that the Russians called their Jewish problem the German problem? You guys forgive Germany for all of their Jew love before the Nazi uprising as if waiting until their country was completely leveled partly by Jews (partly by warmongering) makes everything that happened before okay. I mean, the average Pole was more antisemitic than the average German even during the Nazi reign. There’s no term for Anglo or American Jews like there is for Spanish, Italian… Read more »

The Germans were the only people to develop a rigorous sociological and political theory for understanding and dealing with Jews (decades before anyone had heard of Hitler) and were the first to implement it in 1933.

Grug antisemitism such as that in Poland never works because it approaches the Jewish problem from the entirely wrong perspective and at best it only offers a temporary reprieve from the problem.

Dispensationalism in the Bible just means to dispense, as in, it is the duty of the preacher/prophet to dispense, i.e., give out/spread the gospel (proselytize), hence “dispensation of grace,” the complete opposite of the “dispensationalists'” interpret it. The “dispensationalists” ignore this simple Biblical expanation in favor of making up some bullshit where they claim that dispensation means phases/epochs, where they claim, for instance, that good works/sacrifice of animals could get you saved in the Old Testament, then Jesus came in the flesh and made all of that stuff unnecessary (so they claim)… so if good works and animal sacrifice could… Read more »

Jesus had to take on the sins of man in order for man to be saved by God. The crucifixion of Christ created the pathway for the sins of man to be forgiven, for man recieve salavation and to be brought to the kingdom of God. The whole point is for people to realize they cannot rely on themselves alone and that they are flawed BUT they can be saved by accepting Christ and repenting from sin. Jesus died for our sins and imo that’s a pretty chill thing to do. I am reading the NT right now and I… Read more »

People also always get repentence mixed up; they think it means turning over a new leaf and pledging to do good, when it isn’t. All it is is a change of mind from unbelief to belief. The person who repented the most in the Bible is God, if you look up the usages. Good works are done not to earn salvation, but out of love for God because they are the right thing to do, someone with faith will not always have works, it doesn’t mean they aren’t saved, it just means their faith doesn’t benefit anyone on earth around… Read more »

The only place in the Bible where you find the phrase “faith alone” is in James where he says, “you see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.”

Romans 5:1-2: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 4:3-5: “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Noah found grace (through faith), Abraham justified… Read more »

You have to misinterpret what “works of the law” means to Paul and ignore what he says in chapter 2 if you want to maintain sola fide. Read those same passages you posted in light of what Paul teaches in Romans 2. Romans 2:5-7 [5] But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, [6] who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: [7] eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for… Read more »

Faith alone through grace plus nothing is what saves, according to the Bible. Any good works a christian does goes towards either a reward in heaven or a reward on earth, but it does not go towards earning salvation. Salvation is a gift from God that one accepts through faith alone. No person can live a good enough life to earn their way to heaven, just as Jesus did not live the sinful life which had him punished for the sins of mankind. When Christ died on the cross, he said “It is finished!,” not “I did my part, now… Read more »

Yeah I think that’s a big thing people misunderstand. You don’t get saved just by being nice. You have to have a relationship with God, Christ and the holy spirit in every aspect of your life. I’m with God when I do yard work or have to go to the bank. I read Scripture and listen to Christian motivational content in YouTube to learn how to refine my faith and build that relationship. I try to go out of my way to never make God bummed out at me the same way I wouldn’t want my parents to be bummed… Read more »

Jesus was a Semite, but like you say, not a Jew as we see it. If I spoke to anyone but my wife, I’d tell people I’m not really “anti-semitic”, I just hate every single Jew.
I’m Lutheran btw, so half of you will hate me for being Christian, the other for not being a catholic/orthodox. o/

Some commoner rubes got fooled by the professional conman Trump. I don’t know why I should hate them for that outside of just some pure misanthropic worldview. What is gained from that? Why shouldn’t I just be mad at Trump for tricking and lying to these people?

Man I pulled a Bible off the shelf to read Genesis chapter 17 and it’s pretty insane…

This is God’s highest priority that these kikes in the Bible need to cut off their foreskin? For what purpose? In the king James version they don’t explain the reason they just say God wanted it and he will trade his covenant (basically) for it.

Every year I find these Jewish tales more ridiculous…

It’s an ancient near eastern cultural thing. Various styles of circumcision were used to denote who you belonged to as a slave. The Hebrew covenantal marker of total circumcision was an indelible mark which specified that God alone was one’s master. In addition to it being the matter and sign of a sacramental covenant, it was also a personal sacrifice demonstrating one’s commitment to the covenant. Also, you don’t “trade” a covenant. A covenant is an agreement one enters to bind oneself to another in mutual blessing and cursing; a blessing for keeping faith with the other and a curse… Read more »
