AI will never replace developers. 99% of existing code is absolute archaic trash caked in tribal knowledge and AI will never be able to infer what the reasoning behind it is. AI will just become a steroid infused version of boilerplate/autocomplete. If such a system was not so heavily relied upon by all oligarchies to fragment our people and fry their brains and exploit their labour, I would not hesitate to call it a red herring.
