I’m not arguing for my own particular dogma. It is the Biblical, traditional understanding of our universe as being created for Adamic man.
The two main physically created domains that are repeated in the Bible are “the heavens and the earth.” The earth was created to be Adamic man’s domain and we are the pinnacle of creation. We are meant to be the center of God’s universe. This is the traditional understanding.
Modern Christians try to integrate all the new aged ideas about bagillions of universes and solar systems and blah blah into the traditional view, but it doesn’t work.
The shape of the earth is not a central pillar of Christianity. There’s no correlation between popular beliefs about the shape of the earth and the decline of Christianity. Christianity keeps declining while belief in a round earth has remained steady for many, many years. Obviously there is no correlation between these two things. It sounds like you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
I never claimed the shape of the earth is central to Christianity, though there’s theology and Biblical text that makes it compelling to disbelieve the current “understanding” of earth and the “solar system,” the universe etc.
