Highly recommend Synology NAS for media storage. It just works. Mine has been running for years and never crashed once. Any HDD I put into it runs faster than it did in my Windows setup. Just put in a bunch of old hard drives, plug it into the router, and then you have fast storage accessible from anywhere in the house. You can install Plex, or literally anything else. “media human is so fucking fast” …don’t use it, but just working w/ images on the apple office-machine – yeah it seems like the ARM macs are very good on at least graphics filtering/processing, not surprised it’s quick w/ audio transcoding/etc.

tfw rocking a DS212j from 2012 still. it werks and does what I need (NFS).
All these programs probably just use ffmpeg under the hood, just learn how to use that.
You’re right, but ffmpeg is just a command line interface. Sven isn’t going to want to fuck around with that.
