Question for European governments and NGOs: Now that they no longer risk getting drafted into Assad’s army, all your Syrian refugees can go home, right? IsraAID can shut down its human pipeline through Lesbos, right? Especially now that your moderate, pluralistic, minority-respecting diversity darlings, HTS, are welcoming everyone home.
Or will you make a new excuse for why Syrian refugees need to stay in Europe, if not why Europe should now take in a couple million more? Why can’t Israel take them in—it already feeds, medicates and houses the Hebrew Takfiri Syndicate, so why not the rest of Syria too?
Unless he had already lost control of the army by that point, if only Assad had done a final Saddam-style missile attack on Israel and gone out with a bang rather than a whimper. Why not throw everything you have left at Israel since they’re going to strike your stockpiles after you leave anyway?
HTS doesn’t need the stockpiles either since they’re just fine with jews walking right in: “We do not have the capacity to withstand Israeli advances. [Oh, but you had the capacity for the SAA?] This matter does not have our priority currently.”

His point on Israel threatening Iran is important. Neither Russia nor Iran seemed to want to confront Israel’s threats and provide crucial state support for any reinforcements that could have taken the reins from a suspiciously disappearing SAA. “Israel, if you strike the support we send in, we’ll strike you too. Stay TF out.”
