The reason why Lindsay comes off so bad is that he doesn’t actially engage in arguments, he only rattles off citations that can be attached to something like ‘communism’ where he relies on cold war inertia about communism being indefensible and assumes he has now won by default.
But the Germans did think that Soviets had shit army due to debacle in Winter war
they needed to suddenly pull out of Afghanistan to save up resources for the proxy war in Ukraine. that’s why Trump NEVER did it. the pullout only became a goal when the US figured out the eventual Feb 2022 Russian Uke war would pop off.

I’m not going to push the issue. I just want to point out that when I was growing up I was under the impression that tomatoes just tasted like water, because all I had was store bought tomatoes. Then my grandma started her own garden and those tomatoes were actually tart and delicious.

Social distancing was worthless for airborne, asymptomatic Covid. So was masking AS PRACTICED. They all knew that. This was a power grab.
Also: forcing hundreds of millions of healthy people under 70 into lockdown stressed them out, and decreased their muscle mass and cardiovascular vigor. If they’d stressed the need to STAY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE, you could argue they were just being overly cautious. But since they AVOIDED ALL MENTION OF THAT, I would argue they were purposely driving up the death rate. Because that’s exactly what that policy almost certainly did.
