I would expect a subset of the population like this that makes up, what, 10% of the population, to maybe take 20% of the space given their incentives and natural talents.
Also, these elite colleges have set asides for foreign students, which given the amount of immigrants or 1st gen foreigners, is redundant. It’s just another way to keep Whites out.

Filipinos in my experience are ones who obnoxiously promote the meme of “pan Asian identity” the most more then Chinese and Korean Americans. It’s a way for them to “we wuz” the cultural legacy of China and Japan since Philippines is the armpit of Asia and has more in common with the mongrel states of Latin America due to the obvious Spanish connection and the natives of the Philippines being a more akin to the native tribes of the Americas then the great civilizations of the Orient.
They can try to push for a Pan-Asian identity in America but in my experience it’s all ethnic based identity. There is no basis for this pan identity to ever exist.
I recall hearing that S Korea had mandatory military service if you don’t go to college. To avoid the military many came to the US. I think they may have changed that policy.(update: policy not changed as k/pop stars have been conscripted recently, population decline may be affecting emigration).
