Dharma King, Borzoi, Shane and Spectre talk about the problems with 3 body problem, Fermi’s paradox, the dead Internet, the Dark Forest, generative AI, art vs polemics, and a helluva lot more. Strap on your think helmets.

Listening to Borzoi talk about Chinese sci-fi novels makes me long for the Poz Button. Which I know isn’t coming back, but please talk about more nerd shit on Third Rail!
Great episode, I be eagerly gray gooning until the next one.
I’ve repeatedly suggested a look at the Penrose-Hammeroff theory of orchestrated objective reduction (Orch OR), which explains the difference between computation and consciousness, handles the physics problem of wave function collapse without Everettian follies, and locates consciousness in the Microtubule Associated Proteins (MAP) of the brain.
The Chinese TV serialization of 3 Body is pretty gud
Yes Penrose has been talking about micro tubules on YouTube interesting stuff.
Regarding the point of using genAI to remove negros from films, the chinese are already doing this -> https://archive.is/wip/jz1gv
>Twitter recently suspended two accounts after artificial intelligence scientists shared a modified and ‘racist’ clip from Disney’s latest movie ‘The Little Mermaid’. The short clip whitewashed the skin of actor Halle Bailey, who is playing the role of Ariel. The scientist digitally replaced Ms Bailey- who is black with a fake white character.
Today on borzoi spoils books I wanted to read on the beach this summer…
Shane, just play mass effect 1 and 2. the others are gay
Just play Mass Effect.
2 is terrible, shitty non existent story, absolute dogshit combat.
3 also sucks but at least it have fun combat when playing as Vanguard.
I think that there is no reason to get blackpilled about AI replacing actual human thinking, the current AI hype is mainly a scam to get investor money.
LLMs are just randomized text chain generators that are sophisticated enough and use enough training data to deceive people into thinking that they have the actual capability to reason about things, but all they do is mindlessly chain tokens.
It’s six million if-then statements and not much more than that.
“Can’t sleep; Trisolarins will eat me” had me in stitches.
The Third Rail, more like the three bozos and DK problem.
Just completed these books, lots to think about.
I haven’t got a chance to listen, bro.
Which books are you referring to?
I’m actually really looking forward to reading these books now.
Humans are physical things too, DK
That’s weird. I have been watching Battlestar for it’s 20 year anniversary.
I think it’s time for a grand old Butlerian Jihad, followed by the Crimson Accord.
Only thing that worries me about AI is that it’s more capable than jews of making up semi convincing, at least plausible holocaust stories
I’m not going to elaborate further, but I deeply use AI. It’s both more retarded and more smart than you think. Things will change over the next 5 years, but in unpredictable ways.
I don’t think the fake content issue is going to be as much as people state. Anyone with an IQ over 95 can pick out chatgpt content like they would pajeet content
Borz is basically right about people tricking themselves into thinking it’s real
I’m almost embarrassed to say (as a millennial…) i hadn’t given the first topic of conversation a seconds thought.
I’m only 22 minutes in but this has been the most fascinating podcast episode i’ve heard for years.
I’m computer literate but not a nerd and the levels to which AI is going to (and already has) change our society/lives hadn’t even entered my head.
This is why i’m a mid!!
His name is Shane…. And he’s from Ireland.
I’m sure Jews regret letting the internet become a thing. Too late Jews. I had internet access and now I love Hitler.

This was kind of the thesis behind Andrew Marantz’s book.
During my last year of high school, for the French literature class, I did a dissertation on Louis-Ferdinand Céline’s work (“Journey to the End of the Night”, “Mea Culpa”, “Trifles For a Massacre”, “School For Corpses”, “A Fine Mess”). Because of Louis-Ferdinand Céline’s edgy reputation, I got suspended for a week and I went to see Motörhead live. Great memories!
Thank you, fascinating and entertaining show.
To be clear, everything discussed here was on a spectrum from science fiction to fantasy.
Nothing wrong with that. White people have always loved that stuff.
DK it’s noteworthy that you believe consciousness is non-material but at the same time believe in the more esoteric types of ‘physics’. I’ve long thought these two things were the right match.
re Chinese Room: the *room* would understand Chinese, but the man would not be able to perform the task Searle claims to be able to imagine him performing.
If you want some cool futurism content without the kike politics, Isaac Arthur (Space and Futurism with Isaac Arthur) is actually a phenomenal channel on YouTube for that stuff.
To be honest, the fermi paradix is extremely conceited. I am not sure why you should expect alien contact after less than 100 years of being spacefaring. The galaxy, and the universe is a massive place. We’ve looked at like 1% of 1% of the sky for a couple decades, that’s barely anything at all. Thinking “if aliens exist they’d surely have giant space empires that’d colonize half the milky way” or “they’d have dyson spheres that gobble up whole suns” is a pretty wild leap from the concept of extraterrestrial intelligence.
I dunno – all I think is that Jews are always the Great Filter and need to be completely destroyed.
It’s a combination of the vastness of space and the “rare earth” hypothesis. Simple life may be extremely common but complex life extremely rare; it needs extremely long spans of time in a relatively safe and stable environment to go from simple to complex life. Thus it would be unlikely for multiple intelligent species to develop close to each other. Any intelligent spacefaring civilization that is outside of our local galactic cluster is too far away to reach us, or us to reach them, as they are receding from us faster than we could ever travel assuming there are no… Read more »
it’s not really a paradox then if it’s something just founded on bad assumptions, is it? I’d call it Fermi’s Fallacy!
The first time I’ve ever been first!
Borzoi have you considered Gecko Romans for the AI Art shitposting?
