To determine the second for the first time. , you first must divide the day into 24 parts, then divide each part into 60 parts and finally divide those parts into 60 parts. Then you can label the parts hours, minutes and seconds. But what they should have done was to divide the day into 10 hours, divide the hours into 100 minutes and divide the minutes into 100 seconds.

Mike, I used to live right on the Illinois/Indiana border. The reason Indiana people don’t go work in Illinois is niggers. The only spot on the border of the two states with population worth mentioning is Chicagoland/suburbs/Hammond/Gary area. You drive 10 minutes across into Indiana, there’s some pretty nice higher end areas where former Chicago people with money have fled. Big Serb area actually. Lol, Illinois could raise the minimum wage to 50 an hour and it wouldn’t make up for the combination of niggers having infinity demands, being incredibly difficult, and pretty much not tipping at all, ever.

I spent a long time working in restaurants, so my tolerance for shitty service and mistakes is very high. I can honestly say that the only time I remember leaving a bad tip for poor service was when I had a sheboon with braids waiting on me. Forgot our drinks, didn’t check on us, entrees came before the apps, etc. Left her $5 on an $80 check which we used to call the “five dolla holla”- typical tip from a black table no matter the amount of the bill.
Yeah if you are going to donate to charity’s it needs to be targeted charity to specific people like help paying for healthcare bills and stuff like that.
If taxes are exceptionally high (e.g. CA) it drives business out and their employees and associated businesses tend to follow. Regulation and labor laws are more influential than taxes though – especially where tax cheating is basically SoP everywhere.

A second is just a highly divisible way to make fractions out of a minute, which is a highly divisible way to make an hour, which is a highly divisible way to construct a day out of 24 hours. It’s like asking why there are 360 degrees in a circle. It’s just easy to work with, unlike the metric system units which are only divisible 10s.
I think from the restaurant’s point of view, the tipping system gives them flexibility to accommodate uncertainty about the size of crowds by scheduling lots of staff who don’t cost much if it turns out to be a slow night. Not saying this is right, but that’s probably a big part of the logic behind it.
