Great show guys, we are indeed so back. Physical vs digital media, I totally agree with what Louis was saying. I love the total war warhammer series, I love both vermintide games, and I love the warhammer fantasy universe. I will never play tabletop warhammer.

Why is this show (the only one) in mp4 when you download it?
Wouldn’t it be much easier for him as one person to format it the way every other show here is, rather than every person trying to use it on a device have to individually change it?
Yes my phone plays them in the player fine, but if I want to download the file on my computer and upload it to a podcast player on my phone, which is how I (and I’m sure many others) manage podcast audio files, that’s when compatibility issues come up

I have to countersignal you on tabletop. I enjoy wargames (hence the name), but more for the models than the gameplay. Unfortunately, it’s too hard to find anyone to game with these days. I find that something like Dark Heresy or other TTRPGs have better gameplay than 40k because you can really lean into customization and storytelling. I agree that squad-based tabletop is more enjoyable, and perhaps that is why. I broke open Far Cry 2 for the first time in probably 10-12 years for nostalgia a while back and was shocked to find myself playing a FPS where I actually had to use my brain and not just point-click-win. Great game, except for the apparently nuclear-powered trucks of the random patrols that would always catch up to you no matter how well you drove, which usually ended up with both veichles being fucked up in the ensuing gun fight and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere with no fast travel. I fucking hate rogue-likes so much. I have a suspicion that it’s just a cheap trick to make your game with 1-2 hours of content take 60-80 hours, cuz you die over and over again and need to get through in one sitting. So sick of every goddamned indie game being a procedurally-generated rogue-like. As far as Baldur’s Gape 3, LMAO fuck that game IDC how good it is I’m not playing a game with gay bear sex.
The worst thing about so called “rogue-likes” is the fraking meta progression…. If the tools i need to beat the game is time locked wtf is the point of playing the early game….
Rogue-likes are probably one the easier games to make, aside from perhaps metrovania games. That’s a double edged sword since you get a lot of mediocre games.
Yeah, all you need is a somewhat interesting core gameplay loop and some basic procedural gen, and you have “infinite content”. If a dev can make basic gameplay (the selling point) fun, they can bring in a lot of buyers.
As soon as I see a game which touts, “procedural generation” or, “rogue-like” I skip it. Those are both excuses to have to make almost zero content.
None of those metroidvania games have anything that hooks me in, everything they do has been done thousands of times before by other games that did it way better. Plus, all of them tend to have gay shitskins as characters in the game, and then they expect me to get invested in the story. LMAO as if I care about what emotional journey their homophilic brownoid OC goes through.
