I spoke with Striker myself yesterday, he knows that I think highly of him and I’m terribly upset he has formally left the party. He marches to his own drummer, hopefully he can see his way back, I would welcome him with open arms. We need to win this battle to save our people, so we move forward, we do not lay down and die.

Drama aside… James, Jazzhands, Striker and even other people that left over the years… the network lineup is getting thinner and thinner. TRS needs new shows.
It actually needs less. The fact that we let this site be the focus of shows beyond TDS is what led to thus painful situation. Shows created little ego maniacs who left in cowardly, angry and bombastic fashions. It was a mistake.

Damn. Well, if anything, its interesting how things evolve and people’s perception of them. You have an entity and network and it becomes part of the listener’s lives. And as such, whatever happens to it radiates. Maybe someone can buttfume over implied philosophy of the situation.
I’m somewhat relieved that this issue was somewhat cleared up by Mike. I honestly hope Striker will think things through and in the future he will come back in some capacity. Writing quality articles, doing real investigative journalism and making good podcasts are more fitting for him than working in an organization that’s becoming more and more complex as it grows. Striker’s comments were about as tame as Mike’s comments. The difference is that Striker was the one kicked out, and Mike was the one who was expected to give a real explanation.

If you’re looking for good fire wood, in a pinch, get ash. You can burn it green, and you won’t get really any creosote build up. It burns fast, relatively, but it’s clean and usually get from standing dead trees, since the invasion of the emerald ash bore beetle. I’ve split more ash than I can say, with an axe, and it splits absolutely beautifully. Hopefully it makes a comeback in the states, as it is a perfect species for almost any application.

I may be in the minority, but I found roughly 50% of Strike and Mike episodes to be unlistenable almost solely because Striker could not let Mike make a single point or even finish a sentence.

They’re listenable but I’m still in awe they didn’t end up screaming at each other in at least one episode. I would have after that much interruption… and I mean both. Even Sven gets mad from time to time but Strike and Mike… never. I don’t know how they did it.

You know, while the explanation of this helps, there’s still a wriggling, worming doubt just because of the casualties to the central leadership. I don’t know how to fix it, but I think we’re on shaky (not crumbling) ground here.

Seems to me that, at the very least, two of the three people that got tossed were definitely deserving of getting tossed. The third is only questionable if you consider the pattern of losing people, but I think it’s offset by the pattern of those people generally deserving it.
Mike’s never built a political organization from the ground up before. He’s built a podcast network, but that’s not the same. It’s bound to go through far more changes than this as time goes on.

I don’t think adding more specifics in terms of other named individuals involved will add any additional use or clarity at this point. I think they hit a good balance of being diplomatic without being overly canned, and Sven and Alex provided legitimate push back and counterpoints to get to the root issues, not just getting steamrolled by Mike. And Mike didn’t go out of his way to disparage Striker, either, he was clearly remorseful about the situation and reiterated the necessity of the situation. I just hope bridges aren’t entirely burnt with Striker as he is brilliant in his own ways, even if he can be a little difficult. Love Striker. Hoping that both NJP, TRS and Striker excel without one another. I have no problem continuing to support and follow both. While it still stings and sucks, there could be far worse circumstances for this and I’m glad it’s not the case.
