The Remer segment was incredible and Nasser himself is a fascinating guy. I remember looking at old maps of the Middle East as a kid, seeing both Egypt and Syria labeled “UAR” and wondering why those countries appeared to be mislabeled. That got me down the historical rabbit hole of the United Arab Republic, Nasser’s crowning but fleeting achievement. Well there is something to be said about people who are interested and love animals becoming Nazis, Case in point I grew up reading and loving Zoobooks and was always fascinated by the section they’d have in each issue where they talked about the differences between various subspecies in a genus whether be elephants or tigers.
