I enjoyed FTN most of the time, especially the deep dives on Washington, Jefferson and Hamilton. There were definitely times when I found it unlistenable but then again I could say that about every podcast I listen to, especially ones I’ve been listening to as long as I have here on TRS. Not surprised to hear the ego & prestige thing was a pitfall for him. My own interactions with him on Telegram certainly indicated as much. I disagree about when FTN started to go downhill. Warren and Jazz was a good combination, as Warren would always keep Jazz grounded whenever he went off on a weird tangent. It was only the 2023 solo shows that were unlistenable, when it became mystery guest of the week. I always assumed that jazzhands takes were vetted and checked by the guys as they should be. Guess it’s a process of discovery. Trouble with jazz is that he didn’t really expound on his thinking.
