I met an iraqi citizen who was given asylum maybe 8 years ago. He was working as a security guard and thought I was stealing a car radio (I was installing one). Anyhow, we talked a bit and he told me he was planning to move back to iraq, because he knew how to use microsoft excel and as such could get a job and much higher standard of living and feel safer than in X major US city.

I had covid this week too. Although this time hasn’t been nearly as bad as when I got the “delta variant” two years ago. That is about the sickest I’ve ever been.
