Me too. Punk has a certain spirit about it (Spencer would call it dionysian perhaps) that seems to be celebratory yet aggressive. As someone with some experience in structures, I have to counter-signal your carbon fiber hate. Carbon fiber is fine when bonded to or supported by metals, especially under compressive and quasi-static loads, which is what a sub would be undergoing. It’s not like there is much to to hit under the sea, so impacts are not a problem either. Alex’s experience with sports equipment is a bit misleading, because things like bikes undergo a lot of shock and vibe, are under-built to save money, and typically have very poor quality control.
