Check out the map on this NYT article. These states literally buy your debt and suspend your professional license and/or drivers license. I was going to move to SD before I realized I’d be fucked if I ever got into debt. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/18/business/student-loans-licenses.html Most of the states on that map are red (or were at the time, 2017). With the exception of California, the strongly blue states don’t pull this shit.
