Tony and Warren talk about the films of Brian De Palma, the arrest of the Ukraine war leaker, US trade and warmongering with China, domestic political turmoil in Tennessee and how race is at the root of all America's problems.

Warren, fellow cinephile here nnnnguy, with a recommendation: Trust (1990) by Hal Hartley. An absurdist romance set in 1990 blue-collar Long Island, starring Martin Donovan and Adrienne Shelly (only later to be murdered in NYC in a home invasion). Hal Hartley’s ‘Trust’ is a treasure, an indelible document of misgivings, longing and fated love. The characters are endearing, they struggle and grow, ultimately climaxing in a grand gesture that’s one part the defeat of existential dread and one part proposal, allowing new possibilities for what was initially a two-dimensional person feeling trapped by the media, cultural norms and his strict father.
Saw the Mario movie. It’s basically digital confetti. Not too woke apart from the Princess being a high flying high kicking hero. It’s way too long and not a whole lot of substance. Turn your brain off and enjoy but forget about it afterwards.
Warren, you have to do an episode about Frasier with Mike
Tony driving is still better audio quality than anything the Myth20c boys manage to put out.
One of the only good things to do in my city is watch the operas and anime movies that are shown at a nearby theater.
What’s the catch? Bloomberg Philanthropies is the sponsor. Guess what opera is showing alongside Lohengrin and Don Giovanni…an new opera about a gay, nigger boxer. Womp womp.
O MY GAWD
Victory of Faith is a better movie than Triumph of the Will. Fight me!

For those of you who haven’t seen Tremors here is one of the greatest scenes in the history of motion pictures:

“The highly visible alliance between Jews and Blacks during the civil rights demonstrations of the 1950s and 1960s made Jews the target of renewed hatred by many right wing racists,” “But in the end, the civil rights period brought with it an end to much of the social and economic discrimination suffered by the Jews.” (Alan M. Dershowitz, Contrary to Popular Opinion p. 366)
Too many wrong opinions about entertainment media. Couldn’t listen.
‘Pittsburgh is a white city! It’s 60% white!”

They shove the browns in the middle and whites spread out. While that is bad it’s usually instructive to look at metro area demographics to get a full picture. Pittsburgh’s metro area looks to be 83% white.
