Things being succesful doesn’t mean they’re any good. And it doesn’t need to contain poz to be terrible. Using your example, a lot of Elden Ring was quantity over quality. Copy pasted terrain, copy pasted boss encounters, copy pasted movesets. There was none of the atmosphere of the first game, none of the world building, and the first game wasn’t filled with cheap mechanics designed to annoy you. Exactly Qui, This is why i said earlier that Elden Ring is just a worse Dark Souls game.
Everything good about Elden Ring was done better in Dark Souls and its 12 years old now.

It’s not an a matter of age. It’s objectively true that there are less good games now than there were back around 2007. Literally no one disputes this, just go back and look at the number of well received games from fifteen years ago and compare it to today. I started gaming the 1990s, and I saw the quality both on a technical and a design level improve, peak, and fall off.
