I just saw “Last Man on Earth” for the first time very recently. Very cool film, dark and atmospheric. I beg to differ with Mike about America not being Market Trotskyite. When you consider the insane cultural politics of the U.S. (like Transsexualism, gay marriage or support for Jews/Israel) it’s quite clear that America is absolutely Trotskyite Capitalism. Stalin wouldn’t have gone along with any of that. For that matter Stalin wouldn’t have gone along with capitalism. While Trotsky was perfectly willing to make that compromise. The proof of this being the transition (if you’ll excuse the phrase) of Trotsky’s intellectual descendants into Neo-Cons.
