Warren, not that I’m not supportive of worker rights, I talked one union guy, he was involved in construction or welding and he wasnt supportive of the railroad strike and union demands. He said he and a few of his buddies werent on that train (no pun intended). His reasons were that railroad workers get enormous perks and exemptions. Among them are that they’re exempt from the draft because of how essential they are to national security. Im sure any trade for those weeks off in exchange for sick days wouldnt have been accepted by the company. I’ve been a part of contract negotiations and days off are the hardest thing to get for employees. They would rather double their pay than give them paid days off.
