I once took an airplane from Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania. The pilot was not an African, but the most Nordic looking blonde guy imaginable. So we landed in the dirt field that served as a runway just fine.

i remember one time commenting on a david cole article about how he was a coward, i forget the exact context and he left me a long string of messages in my DMs. it was kind of amusing that he had that response to a random comment

The FAA NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) system went down. This is an old system based on legacy technology that provides text-based information about conditions at airports, in the airspace, etc., e.g., equipment and resource outages (oh, the irony) such as navigation aids, runways and taxiways, as well as other things like obstructions near airports, special activities (e.g., air shows), changes to radio frequencies, etc. The NOTAM system is not directly related to air traffic control radar systems, radio communications, etc.
no more old white men that know how to work on this system. They probably tried to get pajeets to work on it, but they don’t know anything else beyond python.
