I have a bit of a hot take on common core maths.
I always loved maths growing up and did well in it. The common core methods actually resemble the tricks and shortcuts that people who are good at maths naturally invent or learn to do to simplify maths in their head, the problem is that these methods are not good ways to TEACH maths, but they are good ways to DO maths, the underlying assumption is that teaching kids to do the things that smart people do, will make them smarter, but that’s not how any of this works.

In all seriousness I would completely understand if you guys increased the subscription fee. When a user’s subscription runs out at whichever point( 3, 6, 12 months, ect) then initiate a 20 to 50 percent increase. This would translate to $12 to $15 a month instead of $10. Over time and across the board it would definitely help.

I use it for NNR, and it works perfectly. I think a lot of people look at statements like this and make bad assumptions about what Common Core is actually trying to do. It’s more complex to use common core methods, so it can’t be trying to “dumb things down” for the masses. The Common Core approach was actually to look at the “shortcuts” that students that are good at math were doing to solve questions quickly and try to make those the taught process that everyone uses.
