I also liked the one where Peg re-decorates the upstairs batchroom and Al hates it…so at the end of the episode, he buys a metric shit ton of burritos and starts woofing them down while drinking tobasco sauce from the bottle. He does this with the song “Bad to the Bone” playing in the background.
Then he goes up and takes a monster dump, causing the rest of the family to flee for their lives 😆

To Warren: There’s a great BBC adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula that is very faithful to the original book. Combines a couple of characters, but otherwise very faithful. Chainmail was a wargame predating D&D that TSR used as a reference for certain game mechanics, which were ultimately dropped in favor of less clunky rules in future versions of the game.
But yeah, D&D started off as an evolution of wargaming. The earliest versions of D&D were far closer to an open-ended board game than a storytelling game with in-depth roleplaying.
