I watched some “responses” to the Chappelle bit on SNL, and on CNN they had this comedian jew on decrying his statements as problematic for such a small portion of the US/world… But the thing is, pointing to the size of their population as a reason why they deserve more sympathy is actually the opposite. The whole point of Ye’s and Chappelle’s statements is that “Gee it’s weird that such a miniscule population has so much power”.

I went to my first NASCAR race ever recently…and I have to say I had an absolute blast. The tickets were free thru my company. We had a spot in the tailgate zone with a huge tent. Free BBQ and booze. As an older American soccer fan who doesn’t like sportsball small talk, I got through 1980-2010 avoiding sportsball small talk by telling people I was a soccer fan (when asked). I dunno if it’s your thing but are you guys aware of Dark Souls? Those games are like the modern reinvention of old NES games: you have stages, you have bosses, every enemy can kill you and you have to pay attention to their positions and carefully time your actions. Plus there’s barely any cutscenes, the story is told through the environment.
These and the cuphead franchise were actual games. No wonder the subhuman scum (game journalists) hated them. I still laugh about the journo that couldn’t get past the tutorial stage of cuphead for 2 straight minutes.
The big issue i have had with games since the 7th gen is that they get prettier, but none of the other technology seems to improve. The souls games are cool, but, as you said, they are just reiterating something from the past with more flash, not necessarily more substance. Throughout the 90s and early 2000’s games were constantly innovating and setting new standards. For the past 20 years I’ve seen almost nothing but stagnation, simplification, standardization, poor optimization, and, at best, homage to the past.
