My grandfathers were too young and my great grandfathers were too old to be in WW2, I don’t think anyone in my direct ancestry were in ww1 either. My one grandfather was in Korea though, but that was just a police action.

And then someone on this site told me that there should be programs in place for widows like me when something happens to our spouse so that I didn’t have to leave our kids and go back to work. After getting laid off during the COVID shit, I’ve been on the “Fuck you, pay me” train full steam ahead. Especially when these fucks have the gall to ship off billions to their Ukraine grift, with no authorization or right to do so whatsoever. Get whatever you can out of this shit system, goys. I applied on a lark; my pal suggested that I try for something because I was putting myself through school, and barely, barely scraping by. My family was too rich to get any assistance with my education, but too poor to put me through school. Anyway I got $40.00 a month in food stamps for approx 6 months. It helped me with food costs. My Grandpa was with the first wave on D-Day and went on till he was shot in the heel during the Battle of the Bulge. I remember him saying that he intended to go AWOL if they shipped him out for the invasion of Japan.
