Slashdot was late 1990s internet; you could slowly see the proto-SJWs push out the libertarians when they started introducing moderation and Reddit-style ratings system on Slashdot in the early 2000s. Slashdot was a kind of proto-Reddit for computer nerds and early Linux adopters.
I just looked at Slashdot for the first time in 20 years. It basically is just a smaller, more obscure form of Reddit for tech nerds. IIRC they got (((venture capital))) money during the dot com bubble and that is when the Reddit-style moderation system started. The site has been dead to me ever since.

I agree with Moike. Getting a university degree and going to grad school was a complete waste of time for me. I learned more on my own, reading books that grad students aren’t supposed to know even exist.
If I had gone to work straight out of high school I’d have started my working career a lot earlier and probably be a lot richer today. Unless you’re some kind of STEM specialist, or a lawyer or a doctor, you’re going to learn on the job, not in university.

I really enjoy the old internet stuff. The nostalgia is comfy.

Undergraduate school was the best nine years of my life.
