This is a reference to the “just so” stories, I think attributable to Rudyard Kipling, which are fanciful narratives purporting to explain natural phenomena, i.e., how the tiger got its stripes, why crickets chirp, or whatever. The name “just so” means you’re not supposed to question the outlandishly improbable aspects of the story but accept it on faith.

Apparently I was wrong about the derivation of the phrase “just so.” The original reference was to Kipling’s daughter’s insistence that the stories be told just so, without the slightest alteration from one telling to another, which can also be said in a way about popular propaganda. But I think the reference in the way the death panel uses it has become conventional, unless they’re using it in the original sense and I’ve just been misinterpreting it.
What it usually is is creating elaborate seemingly plausible hypotheses with no or solely circumstantial evidence.

I always love when he crams himself into these tiny vehicles and tanks clearly designed for much shorter men. I always thought that tank crew members would have to be rather short, but apparently that’s not so much an issue with modern tanks like the M1 Abrams.
Deliberately designing tanks for short people is a Russian thing. American tanks have always been taller and with more internal room especially when you get to the M1 Abrams.
