Turning 50 was a lot easier than turning 40. You’re already been “old” for a while and you realize you won’t be 80 for 30 years and you feel less old. 30 to 40 is a weird shift where people are adults but don’t share your memories, etc.
But your perception of the passage of time changes, and the 10 years between 50 and 60 feel like 5 or 6.
